Drainig fuel tank for safety 900 1994

greets all,
Changing out fuel pump that failed a block from my house. Staggered home and parked in my driveway spot! (living good?) So in the interest of safety i really should drain the tank of ~ 8-10 gallons of $3.43 per gallon of fuel prior to the fix.

What is the recommended way to do this? The car has 205k miles. pump was changed (not by me) about 100k ago.
