94 940 timing problem 900

Hey friends,

I just changed the head gasket on my moms 94 940 non turbo. I got it all reassembled and now Im having drivability problems. It feels like the trans is slipping and it won't go over 60 mph. When I changed the belt the rear timing cover was disintegrating so I replaced it with a new one. I suspect I screwed up the timing when replacing the belt. Does that sound likely? BTW I changed the head gasket not because of a leak but because the 1 exhaust manifold bolt was broken and I need to remove the head to have a machine shop install a new one. thanks for any help.
