wagon weird brake problem 700 1988

Hello,

Old brake hose could form a restriction inside resulting in a one-way valve (even if it looks fine outside). This prevents brake fluid from returning quickly to the reservoir causing dragging brakes. If the rubber hoses are the original ones that comes with the car you may need to replace all.

The fact that after letting the car sit for a while releases the brake points towards the above problem (the brake fluid slowly returns and releases the brake).

Hope this helps,
Amarin.
