NEED Advise '93 M47 5 sped manual hard to shift after some driving "low trans fluid'? 200 1993

Hi guys I have been gone for some time and glad to be back

My '93 244 M47 is hard to shift after driving for 5-10 minutes. Tha car sat for over a year and may have leaked trans fluid. It was outside so I can not tell.

The Bentley notes 2.4 qts of Type F or G trans fludid for the manual tranny.

Is this stuff available?

Can I use Synthetic 75-90 gear oil?

I suspect that the level is low and after driving for a few minutes the gears are hot and expand causing difficulty to shift. The Bentley notes something similar. I just do not want to screw it up by using the incorrect fluid.

Appreciate your experience and help

Thanks

Al
