cam oil seal 900 1991

Hello. Yes I am a newby here. I have a question (lots actually) about the cam oil seal. First off the car is a 1991 940 se turbo. I have the famous camshaft oil seal leak. I replaced the seal a while back when I replaced timing belt. That was about 3 months ago and all has been good since. About a week ago I changed oil and right away (after the first drive) noticed oil leaking all over. It leaked before but not as much. Anyway I'll speed things up here. After consulting this site as well as others, I learned about the pressure build up from carbon and oil crude. I have removed and cleaned the oil breather box and all the hoses that have been mentioned in the volvo sites that might be blocked. I got new cam seals and when I went to change the front cam seal I noticed a hole in whatever is behind the seal. What is behind the seal? Is it a cap like the ones I see in other areas on the engine? It does not look to be part of the casting of the head. Can I replace it? If so I am assuming the camshaft will have to be removed. I have no problems with doing that I just need some info in regards to torque specs., do's and don'ts, and important things to be careful of while removing the camshaft. I have already marked and removed cam timing gear and secured the timing belt so it goes back on in the correct place. Also removed distributor. Can I just undo the bolts holding it in place and pull the camshaft out? Are there springs or anything else that will go flying off? Valves? I have a basic volvo manual but it is of no help and I cant seem to find specific info for removal of the cam. Any info would be great. Pretty much everything I know about Volvos has come from this site so Thank You.
