cam oil seal

Thank you for the response. It is definitely a hole though. It is
irregular in shape and has cracks around it. It looks like someone stuck
something in the seal and hammered it too far. I was pretty careful after
reading about it so im pretty sure it wasnt me. Is the seal enough to keep
oil in? I dont like anything with holes in my engine so I want to
replace. I literally just took the nuts off the cam but it is still
clamped down so it hasnt moved. I thought it was a cap but I do not see
anyway to remove it without pulling the cam out. I cant find any help
online and you are the only one to respond from brickboard. At this point
I am frustrated and tired. I have a clamp on cam that I can release slowly
and I marked position of cam well. I am fairly confident in loosening
clamps and just going with it. If there is something that I just
absolutely must know before doing this please tell me now. Thanks.
