running hot and going through oil 200 1993

Hi All-

I have a 93 245 with about 300K on it. It runs fantastic, but recently has been getting hot when idling in the summer traffic and has been going through motor oil at about 1 quart every 1500 miles. I don't know if the two problems are connected. I recently did a rad. flush, put a bottle techron in the gas tank, and the car is powerful (for a 240!) and gets decent mileage. No obvious oil leaks.

I have heard about using a single viscosity oil (40W) and oil additives. Any opinions or suggestions out there?

thanks much -

John
