Brake Light Pressure switch issues 444-544 1964

Hi all!

I've now replaced the brake light pressure switch on my '64 544 a couple of times in the past 7 or 8 months because the brake lights don't really work in a "real life" situation.

The last switch worked fine for a bit, sorta. There was always a slight delay for the lights coming on, and that's okay as long as they work.

What's now happening is that sometimes the brake lights will come on when they are supposed to, other times the lights won't come on unless I jam the pedal down to the floor with extreme force (IE: a totally unrealistic braking situation.) The previous switch just stopped working entirely.

Am I not doing something correct with these things? I feel like they should last more than 3 - 4 months at a time. Are some switches made better than others?

Any other creative solutions to this? The switch install isn't all that difficult, but bleeding the brakes has started to get a little old.

Thanks all!
