Turn your radio on 120-130

I have 2 Blaupunkt radios in their original boxes, one that I had put in my daughter's Honda just before she totalled it and the other one I bought to put in my wagon but never was able to decide on a really good spot for it. To further complicate things, the sedan has AC which takes up a lot of under dash space.
With the long shifters, a console is probably not going to work, the only other place I can imagine is overhead.

I have not been able to bring myself to alter the dash so that these could fit where the radio was originally meant to be, although this does look like the best place for it.

I still haven't decided what to do and am not in a hurry, so any clever ideas would be welcomed. Pictures too if there are any and opinions on the alteration of the dash.
