Live axle torque arm bushings 700

If your Volvo is any half-decent shape, it would be worth it to use the all round 2-piece poly bushings. My '88 740 looks like a pile of rust from below, so just intend to use the funny looking original rubber style. The Volvo 700 1991-92 parts manual which can be downloaded as a pdf from volvotips.com has an "exploded" view of all the axle attachments on page 657, and shows the bushings with flat sides vertical, which seems to go against the "intuitive" engineering conception, however, would assume it was checked by the Volvo tech service. BTW this view is reproduced in other sites, but the pdf can be zoomed in at fairly good resolution and clarity. Presume your BSME is Bachelor of Science Mechanical...- I have a partial, and spent my working life on machinery designs.
