Can anyone tell me what the expected output PSI should be for the the stock Bosch pump on 73 1800ES D-jet?
Also, is there any harm in installing an extra in-line filter between the tank and the pump in order to capture crud before it enters the pump. (I do have the regular high pressure filter after the pump.) I picked up one of those generic filters that you can see inside of.
This is the car I'm resurrecting after sitting for nearly 20 years. I had the tank chemically cleaned, but with the baffling in the way it's hard to tell how clean it really got in the hidden areas. My thought was to run an extra filter, at least for a while
I had the car running fairly well long enough to load it on a transport, but when it arrived at my new home the delivery guy said he had a note to not start the car due to a fuel leak. Sure enough, when I keyed the ignition on, fuel leaked out of the injector hoses - that's all replumbed now with new hoses and new injector seals. But now I'm only getting 8 psi to the rail. Maybe the tank's running low on fuel :) Another thing I saw that didn't make me too happy - the adjustment on the regulator is screwed ALL THE WAY IN! I'm wondering if somebody at the transport company cranked it down thinking they were going to shut the fuel off. Once I get the pressure back up at the rail I can tell what condition the regulator is in. I need about 28 psi at rail, correct???
Thanks.
