Power Steering Leak - Rack Hose 200

Hi Folks,

So I finally tracked my power steering leak down and think it's coming from the metal hose on the rack itself. That is, the solid metal tubing going from one end of the rack to the middle. It looks like a brake line. The line is corroded with flaking rust. ???

This looks like a real chore to replace that hose, i.e. probably needing to drop the rack for access. Access to the fittings it tight.

Anybody ever change this hose?

A quick search didn't turn up a replacement part... Though I guess I could fabricate one from a brake line.

Maybe it's easier to install another rack? That, of course, means undoing the tie rods and having to realign the front end.

Thanks for any input.

Bert
