Idle up solenoid B18 - B20

I just finished installing A/C in my '68 Amazon wagon (B-20, M-41, Dual SUs)
With the A/C on I need to keep the idle at about 800 to keep the voltage up for the evaporator fan and aux fans in front of the condenser. With the A/C off the idle rises to 1200.
In searching, I've come across reference to an idle-up solenoid. I purchased a solenoid off of ebay and am now trying to figure a way to make it work.
Does any one have photos, instructions, advice on how and where to install the solenoid?
I would also be open to other methods of dealing with the idle drop/racing.
Thanks,
TR
