Volvo 240 B23 engine will not start - fuel/ spark/ no compression problems in past 200 1984

I started my car and went to drive away, as soon as I started to accelerate the engine died and would not start again. Car was running well and just returned from a road trip with no problems. Earlier in the day it was week accelerating but warmed up and was fine.

I have traced the spark from the battery all the way to the engine, all good. Battery is strong. All four spark plugs are firing. There is gas flowing across the fuel rail and back through to the tank. Fuel pumps both seem to be working, the in tank pump is hard to hear but the main pump is definitely pumping strong. Main pump runs without the key if you bypass the fuel injection relay. Replaced both ignition and fuel relays today and still not starting. Also checked timing belt, looks fine and is spinning the cam shaft. Thinking about moving forward, not sure whether to replace spark plugs or start pulling apart the fuel injection system ( would really like to avoid ) .

Any tips or help is much appreciated !

Cheers
