cranks but won't start? not getting fuel? 200 1986

The tach wire comes directly from the coil. If the tach wire is connected to the wrong place, it would mess with the signal going from the ECU to the coil, and possibly cause the coil to not fire, so no spark. Also, some cars rely on the coil signal to run the fuel pump. No ignition, and the fuel pump doesn't run. Thus, messing with the tach wire / coil wire could also cause a no fuel situation.

Hope this helps!
