Weird electrical issue... 444-544 1964

Greetings all!

Trying to figure this one out. I went out to my '64 544 to start it this afternoon (first start of the day). I noticed the yellow "OIL" light was lit, without the key being in the ignition. I thought this was strange, since I happen to know the oil pressure light wire isn't connected to anything at present (it's on my list of things to get to!)

I started the car, and the light went out. I drove, parked, and when I turned the car off, the yellow OIL light came back on.

I played around with electronics inside the car and made a couple of discoveries. I typically park the car with the OEM (Bendix AM) radio turned on (I never bother to turn it off). Turning the radio off with the key removed would turn the OIL light off, but then the AMP light would glow! I cycled through the other electronics with the car off (heater fan, brake lights, horn, and wipers) and when I would add those to the mix, the OIL light would glow brighter!

Removing all 4 fuses would cause the OIL light to go out, but the AMP light to turn on instead.

This car still has a generator, but I'm really not sure if that has anything to do with this.

I'm going to disconnect the battery when I park the car tonight for the evening to be on the safe side. Car seems otherwise unaffected while running. I have the normal 13-14 volts at the battery according to my meter.

To add to this, though I don't know if it's related, but the fuel gauge doesn't work. The wiring from the sender to the gauge is solid (verified with a meter), and the sender is working (also verified with a meter).

Any thoughts? I'm not sure where to begin with this one.

Thanks all!
