Weird electrical issue... 444-544 1964

It sounds very much like the Cut-out contact of the VRegulator is not opening with Ignition Off...contact may be welded remove cover and check for this...this contact connects Gen output to Battery when Gen is turning and putting out, but it must be disconnected when Gen is not turning as it will then become a load (and discharge Bat)...Alts with their diodes do not have this weakness...until this is repaired, I highly recommend disconnecting Bat when car is parked to prevent discharging Bat.
