Another "Fan working with engine off' problem. S90-V90

I had a problem last year where the cooling fan on my '96 960 would run after shutting off the car. With advise from Dan it was the coolant temp sensor on the thermostat housing. The fan would shut off after approx. 8-10 minutes. And the car also ran terribly after warm up due to the failed temp sensor. You indicate your car is running good though at this time.

This problem came about suddenly after an intake gasket replacement. Confusing the issue. I don't remember what code was thrown up. Just my experience with the failed temp sensor.

Edit: You will need the thermostat housing to head gasket and now would be a good time to replace the thermostat as well. And yes, the power steering pump needs to be unbolted and moved a little to gain access to the thermostat housing. Be very careful with the torx bolts holding the thermostat cover. They can be stubborn and strip out.
