1993 240 front whee bearing rubber seal 200

There is a stamp steel washer cap with a lip. In addition there is a rubber gasket. Both of these fit onto the back of spindle prior to the hub installation. Two questions.
1. Does the steel cap lip face towards the bearing or the back plate?
2. The rubber gasket has two edges one is flat then there is a gap then the other edge is larger and conical if viewed from a cut view. Which direction does this rubber gasket face?

Currently I have the steel cup lip facing the back plate.

I first placed the rubber gasket with conical side facing the back plate. I stretched it over the spindle taper the flat edge of the spindle then put the steel cup on then the hub.

A diagram would be helpful.

Thanks
