Difficult Starting Solved 200 1980

Thanks to all who replied.

I checked the spark plugs, which were gapped correctly, but had dry black soot on them, perhaps from gas flooding while trying to start my Brick.

I also cleaned the battery terminals and ignition terminals, though I did not observe any rust or debris.

I confirmed that 3 year old battery voltage is 12.64 Volts.

After those interventions, she starts up on the first attempt without problem on repeated tests over several days!

By the way, a friend who does not belong to this bulletin board suggested that my cold stat injector might be involved, so I posted the timing of the difficulty starting to help other users as to whether temperature and the cold start fuel injector were involved.

Thanks!
