Dome light... Ball bearing in the switch keeps falling out. 120-130 1966

I can't be the only one with this issue.

I've now gone through about 3 different dome lights between my 122 and 544, and each one fails the same way: The switch action starts to get a bit difficult, and then finally one day I'll go to use the light, and the ball bearing in the switch pops out.

I can never seem to get more than about 4 months out of these lights before this happens. I do regularly use the light when it's dark out.

Is there some way to fix this problem for good? Perhaps some modification I could make to the light? I really want this problem to stop. (In each case, these failures have been with brand new lights.)

Any ideas are welcome!

Thanks all.
