In theory, yes. The engine X-member has to come down so the engine has to be support from above.

The reality is I cannot imagine damage to a B230's rod bearing that would not require turning the crank. They really are designed to last the life of the engine (approx 350K miles) so we are looking at an oil starvation issue which almost always damages the crank and/or connecting rod.

If your issue is what you perceive to be rod knock, it is very often piston slap that is extremely common in these motors and rarely fatal.

If it is low pressure at idle, I would suspect the oil pump o-ring failure.
