will throttle position sensor work for 1993 240 LH 2.4?

IPD has only one kind of TPS for sale and claims that it fits all 240s from '90 to '93. Other sources make the distinction; selling the standard TP switch for the 2.4 and the sensor for 3.1. Obviously, you can't switch the sensor for the switch because a sensor is a continuum, but I guess it is possible to go from switch to sensor. If this is the case, that's great; the sensor is significantly less expensive AND never has to be adjusted. Not to question the eternal wisdom of the IPD staff, but I am a bit concerned that this is not correct. However, why would they only sell the 3.1 TPS? There are way more 2.4 cars out there.

Just curious.
