Heater Valve manufacturers 900 1991

Is there a preferred manufacturer for the heater control valve on a 91 940T? As i posted a few days ago, the metal and plastic valve I installed a few thousand miles ago failed (broke in half) leaving me stranded, with a blown engine due to instant coolant loss. I had bought the part at NAPA. I do not know the manufacturer. I am putting a new engine in the car now, and would like to find a GOOD heater control valve. Does anyone make an all metal unit?
