How does a 940 compare to a 240 900 1994

I've had mostly 240s for the past 12 years. I have a deal on a 940.
What is a reasonable price in the San Francisco Bay Area?
How is this car different repair and reliability wise vs. my 240s (1980 primarily)? I'm noticing that 1980-era 240s are getting harder to find in junkyards. Not sure about 940s
What should I look at when inspecting the car?
Most of the repairs seem cheap (except driver's window). Can you estimate costs?
What's the fix for the gas gauge? seat belt?

Here are the details:
$900, 1994 940 wagon, non-turbo, 223k miles, salvage title (unsure why, but missing passenger air bag), but currently DMV registered, NOT recently smogged, broken driver's window and stolen radio, broken driver's seat belt (no further info), right brake light intermittently works, glove box taped shut, no passenger air bag, some rust (unclear where and not visible on exterior photos of body), leather is old and torn in places, gas gauge doesn't work. Seller's mother drove occasionally and in town short distances, reportedly regular oil changes. It was been posted last week for $1,050 and apparently unsold.

I'm looking for a clunker that's safe. It actually LOOKS okay in the photos, and I believe they're not touched up. I have a dog, and the vet does NOT want airbags where she sits; my doctor said that I should NOT have an airbag either (neck condition), so the lack of passenger air bag is strangely enough an advantage.

Thanks
