Smog Check Hell 200 1984

Long story short: took my '84 245 in to get smogged without having performed comprehensive tune up. I had just cleaned the flame trap and put in a new air filter.

It failed on low rpm HC, high and low NO : 3117 PPM @ 15 mph, 2937 PPM @ 25 mph.

I put in new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, O2 sensor, fuel filter (unchanged in 10 years - shame!), fuel pressure sensor and a new catalytic converter.

HC went from 143 to 12 PPM, 15 mph NO went down to 263 PPM, but 25 mph NO actually measured higher - 3112 PPM.

Technician suggested that it's running lean at the higher rpm- maybe something w/ the AMM. I also read on one of the threads on this topic about the possibility of an exhaust leak throwing the O2 sensor off.

Confession: I have not done a proper fuel pressure test.

Any tips are gratefully welcome.
