Set static timing first.. 900

Hello,

If the plastic setting plug at the distributor's location is absent (mine is), set it using the static timing. Volvo Pocketbook states that for most B230 engine the idle timing is at 12 degrees BTDC.

First ensure the crankshaft flywheel timing mark still NOT veered off its preset location by checking at TDC. Then set the engine to 12 BDTC. Well approximately.

Open the dizzy's cap and note the position of the electrode peg (on the cap) connecting to no.1 spark plug. Scribe its position on the dizzy's base (sharpie or something). Put the rotor on spindle. Now twist the dizzy's body to align rotor to that scribe. Done.

Well..this is a logical way to do it..right?

Regards,
Amarin.
