transmission swap from 740 to 780 700

My beloved '87 740 turbo wagon died - well, one piston is blowing by like crazy so I figured it's unfortunately not worth to rebuild it. Since I have the M46 manual transmission I got the idea to swap it into an 780. To me it looks like a straight forward job since I would have all necessary parts from my old 740.
Both have the same fuel injection system. Only thing I am worried is if the drive train bolts onto the independent rear suspension of the 780 and the ratio of the differential?

... and I have to convince my wife that I can fit 3 kids in the backseat and strap them into their seats.
