How does one clean the crud that is under the cowl vent? 140-160 1970

I do understand preventing crap from getting in there in the first place is the best solution.
I unfortunately had to leave my 142 outside the last couple of weeks and leaves and other crud have gotten under the cowl vent. I cant see a way to get in there to clean the crud out? Any ideas on how to do this?
