Rotted 740 Electrical Connectors 700

All connectors are available through Volvo. There are pages full of the plastic covers and metal terminals in the Volvo parts manuals when they were printed or on microfiche. Your dealer now has them on his computer and can order them for you if he doesn't stock them. They usually come in overnight or within a week if in CA. You have to describe the probl to the parts counter person and they will show you a print out of the parts diagram and then locate the numbers. With the exception of the headlights they will all be separate so you'll need a crimping tool to press the on After you've put the plastic part on or have to insert the terminal in the plastic with another tool that looks like a small standard screw driver. Some times you can get the pig tails from FCP or another parts house IPD, etcetera or through RockAuto. If you get the entire
Pigtail (plastic connector assembled with terminal and wire leads) you use solder less connectors pressed on both ends into the stripped new and existing wire using the old part as a guide. If you're not up to it take the car to a Volvo specialist, dealer, or auto electric shop and they can do the job. Usually I check for connectivity using a Volt Ohm Meter after assembly.
