Check engine light 200 1992

In the 91 and 92 there are a couple of poor connection possibilities which would result in exactly that symptom. There will be no codes if these connections are responsible, i.e. 111 in both sockets. Once the motor gets back to speed the CEL goes out.

The connections are at fuse 6 on the panel (both the fuse itself and the spade lugs behind the panel) and the pins in the 12-place cabin to engine harness connector beneath the glove box. Of course the FI relay is also a suspect, with its notoriously cracked solder joints. Visually inspect for signs of heating. There should be no hot spots.

Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their maker.
