91 240 Fault Code 4-1-3 200

Hi Joe,
I believe that the temp sensor for the EGR is either in the EGR valve body or tube from the EGR valve to the intake manifold. Maybe it depends on the year. My car (a 91) appears to have both sensors and only one is plugged in. The EGR valve is under intake manifold close to the firewall. It's pretty easy to identify.

Here is more than you probably ever wanted to know.

I had this code some years ago. A shop reset it for me at the time and it hasn't come back. So you can try that.

I think that the ecu sensing a difference in temperature is what sets the light. If the valve is supposed to be open, but the temp at the sensor doesn't increase, then the light gets set. So I guess that means either there is a clog, the sensor is unplugged or some other anomaly.

-Spencer

Edit: I forgot to mention that your car should probably run fine with this CEL set. Lots of people remove or plug their EGR systems. I guess you might want to make sure that your EGR valve isn't stuck open, but my guess is that the tube to the intake is plugged.
