94 octane gas

I have called Sunoco about this before. Sunoco 93 is the same as 98 RON. Actually at the pump, there are only two types of gas. Normally 87 and 93 depending on location. All others are a combination of regular and premium gas. I always buy the max: Sunoco 93 or Shell 92 V-Power; that way I know I am not getting a mix.

Depending on your engine management system. If your engine detects knock, it will retard the timing, which will effect performance, but it would allow you to run lower octane. Same goes with higher octane; it could further advance the timing, but not always.

I know plenty of people that run lower grades of gas than specified. Most of them seldom drive in high RPM or take it to redline. For them it could be fine. For me I run the best, because my car requires 91 octane.
