Hi:
Recently I was looking for snow tires. My winter operational vehicle is a pick up, so I got some Hankook THEN ON SALE. HOWEVER, I also JUST found a good deal for 240's. Discount Tire Direct, a relative of Discount Tire Retail stores, have General Altimax Artic snow tires in 185/70 x 14 size. Price is$66 each, free shipping, $25 web discount, and a $50 Visa gift card if you use their credit card. This seems easy to get (my app. cleared online in 2 minutes while we talked to DTD rep) and is store credit card like were popular in department stores in the 70's.No state sales tax, find local tire mounter ($15-20 each mount/balance typically), so as I add it you are talking around $239 all up assuming $50 to mount AND using a spare set of used steel wheels. Generals seem to have a good rep and, IIRC, not made by a dubious firm in strange country. Anyway, FWIW.
