AW 70 transmission issues @ 437K 900 1994

The wife is determined to get to 500K. Hope you can help.

'94 940 turbo/automatic. 437K

Isuue:
Today the tranny (AW70) started slipping on her. She stopped and added 1 qt trans fluid (DEX); bringing it to just over minimum on stick.

She drove home; it would not shift into upper gears.

I get home. fluid is OK ...drove car in DR ....seems to shift to 2nd, but that is all.

Pulled lever back to 1, and then 2 and 3 ...trans shifts to 2nd, then 3rd gear, but will not go into overdrive. And yes, OD light is off on dash. Pushing it engages light, but does not affect tranny.

One problem ...linkage needs adjustment and bushing replacement (badly) ...barely enough room in gate to engage gear one (not sure what if any effect this might contribute).

Any help appreciated. As I said ...500K on the horizon! :)

Thanks
