Teach me about cams: best NA cam for daily driving between 2K & 4K RPM? 200

Hi All,

Can someone educate me on all the different cams options? My car is a 91 245, naturally aspirated, and it's my daily driver. I'd love to get a little more ooomph out of it.

I drive mostly between 2000 and 4000 RPM. It's rarely used for hauling heavy loads. I don't mind a little bit of a lumpy idle or a little bit of engine noise (in fact a little more noise would be an improvement in my opinion).

I've read that the RSI NA cam moves the powerband too high for comfortable DD use, and that the VX cams don't really make much of a difference. Then there are all the factory cam options, and I have never seen a breakdown of the differences between them. I've even heard of people running turbo cams in NA cars.

Also, my car has a block mounted distributor, so I can run either a non-slotted or slotted cam, correct?

I'd love you hear your experiences and suggestions. Thanks all!
