My poor 740 getting full restoration yet still suffers from idling issues i cant figure out 700 1990

Hello All,
First time poster, been following for a year or so now though.

So I have been putting in alot of effort the last couple years trying to restore my 90' 745... she was neglected and previous owner botched a few things i have been setting right.
its a regina

The IDLE!!!!

so it all began about a year ago when the idle started to get progressively worse...

i have read many many... many threads on this subject, but cant find one that has the same issues that mine has.

here it is....

it starts rough.... incredibly low idle, and in cold weather it will die after a a few seconds unless i gas it until it warms up.... once warm it still idles very low (300ish) but wont die, it will run and drive perfectly immediately, just doesnt like to sit and idle.

It drives like a champ (once up to speed), and has many big road trips under its belt since i have owned it, and this issue doesn't affect driving above appx 10 mph.

-Remedies i have tried.
----removed and cleaned throttle body
----idle air flow unit cleaned
----new plugs + wires + air filter

it will coast at speed and maintain a good idle rate, but when slowing down to a stop light the idle will drop down

-The weird
-----when i start it and it is idling rough, the headlights are dim, when i give it gas the headlights go back up to normal brightness. this is the only time i notice it.

-----i can head clearly the in-tank fuel pump spin up so i belive it is fine.
-----i changed the fuel pump relay with 3 other ones, nothing changes....
-----the cruise control works, and as far as i can tell i cant find a vacuum leak.

if i think of any other details i will update.
its a wonderful car and i have really fallen in love with it.

*** i did a compression test last week and the old red block has 150 PSI on all four... not 149 or 151 on a couple.... BANG on 150 on all....
so i was pretty impressed by this...

*special thanks for Ted down in portland whom i met and helped me out alot and gave ne some great advice ! as hooking up new door panels that my little weimeraner decided would be fun to destroy. I believe he is a member on here somewhere.
