I still remember when there were Duck Farms on the Carman's River in Brookhaven village. Used to take the ferry from Bellport over to Fire Island when there were still beach clubs on the Bay side of the island.

I remember the winter of '78...all too well.

Knew lots of Clammers..does the name Dick Tooker sound familiar? Used to have a boatyard in Brookhaven on the estuary? Or Puleston and Wellington (they owned all the bay side land between the Bellport town line and the Carman river and were the folks who made sure all the open fields in Brookhaven village were never sold for housing)? Mikelson or Lacey or Binnington? All families that I knew.
