slowwwww acceleration 200 1989

350k auto 245
used tranny installed at 350k last august

after install was going uphill and heard noise from muffler/exhaust and performance since then just blah. will cruise at 70 but takes time getting to that. will admit the exhaust system from cat back pretty bad.

slow acceleration with feeling of being in too high of gear. car moves but not with oomph with pedal pushed .lumpy idle.
last month on occasion it would sputter and slow when throttle pushed and would almost die if pedal pushed to floor.

this week I did find 2 of plug wires worn to white insulation. changed them to bcords along with bosch cap and rotor. that solved the dying at part throttle and full throttle. before change of plugs it threw a 231 code, but that cleared and hasn't returned since wire change.

new main fuel pump last summer, new fpr this month, new 25 amp fuse holder, new air filter, cleaned throttle body and iac and maf. tps clicks when throttle barely opens.

now it goes but seems to lack the oomph it had before that uphill incident.
no spare maf to check that. haven't checked for air leaks yet either.mpg seems down.

so, just looking for possible causes. was leaning to plugged cat(original) or maf.
