You do not have to move the distributor. You will have to remove the cap and rotor and also remove the plastic shield that's under the rotor. Now look at the top edge of the distributor, it's the surface that the cap rests on. You will see a faint mark, the rotor should line up with it, and it should also line up with the wire that goes to the #1 cylinder.
