Time to rebuild the seats in our '67 122 wagon. I have a collection of parts I've gathered: all metal parts from 122 2D, chrome recliners. Extra cushions. Pieces, etc. A set of late model 122 seats with head rests. Soooo, my hope is to blend the head rest units and the chrome recliner parts to create a decent set of seats that will tilt forward and recline. Yes, it's a wagon and not needed, but if the passenger seat tilts forward, it would make longer room for soft, long loads. And my thinking is to use the best of all that I have.
A consideration is that my wife is short. So sitting up for visibility and driving comfort is really important for her. I suspect a new set of foam would be best, but even if they are still available somewhere, I'm not sure I can afford them. (Retirement income not the best in current economy)
For seat suspension, are the spring kits from Swedish Embassy still the best bet?? The concept seems a lot better than any kind of webbing, a subject that has been beaten around a lot here in the past.
Next, anyone have a photo tutorial around for seat rebuilding? Or tips? Thanks, Dennis in E WA state
