Flush differential? 700

My 91 740 sedan has both fill and drain ports. I went to the auto store and saw Mobil synthetic and the label says LSD (limited slip differential?). Can I use this type in my diff. The owners manual states GL5 and IIRC 80-90W. If I can, then my plan would be to drain and fill with the "regular" oil , run with that a bit then do the synthetic. Thanks for your replies.
