wiring harness for high mount light 200 1993

Hi folks-

I'm a newbie to this site so bear with me please. I have a '93 240 wagon. It failed inspection recently because the high mount light doesn't work. Bulb is fine. Mechanic says the wiring harness for the light needs to be replaced but he can't locate a wiring harness for that light so he wants to splice the existing harness to fix the problem. He says it's a 2-3 hour job so labor only, no parts. I did find a used harness on car-part.com that apparently will work. The seller told me I can even fix it myself and that there's probably step-by-step instructions on this board. I did a search before sending this message but no luck. So, can I fix this non-working high mount bulb problem myself with this used wiring harness and, if so, how?
