What you see is what Volvo used.

It might be replaced with the correct size and type of o-ring.

The same exact part was used on 1972 Volvo 1800E and all 1800ES with the "coffin" style seat back.

I will be working on an 1800ES seat back next week and if possible, I will try to find a substitute.
