re: 87 245 auto - electrical study 101 200 1987

Hi All,

I am trying to learn the basic charging/starting system. I have few questions to ask you. Thank you.

Q1. What's this (circle a)? Is this a fender blade style fuse?

Q2. While the alternator is charging, what makes this warning light bulb (circle b) to go off? It looks like the current is there.

Q3. While the alternator is charging, does charged current flow towards the light bulb? Left or right as indicated on the diagram? Or stops at the bulb connector?

Q4. Why does an ignition wiring go through fuse #12 and come out at #13? Why not use #12 fuse only???

Q5. See orange wiring/circuit, can a starter catch fire from the alternator current as soon as you start to crank? Does starter made to withstand 100amp coming from the alternator?
