Are All Dome Light Switches Created Equal? 200

About a year ago, I replaced 6 door jamb switches for the dome lights in our 2 1980's vintage 240s (one 2-door, the other 4-door). I purchased my replacements from IPD and they were quite inexpensive (maybe $2.50 each including the rubber cover). In that year or so almost all of them have had their rubber fall apart and most are not working or do so only intermittently.

I find that some sellers claim (and confirm in email to me) that they are selling genuine, Volvo branded switches while others are selling aftermarket units at maybe half the price or less. I am not sure if these include the rubber or not.

Can anyone speak to using the Volvo branded switches versus the ones at IPD or those marked "proparts" that I see all around including EBay? Or all they all basically junk?

Thanks
