O2 sensor socket use w/ 4th gear switch * M46 trans

This is a bit late on this thread but what the heck? I have to replace my 4th gear switch and I have read about using a cut-down 22mm deep socket. I have an O2 sensor socket from Harbor Freight but the hex fitting does not go deep enough into the socket to work cut down. I saw this Offset Oxygen Sensor Wrench at Harbor Freight (http://www.harborfreight.com/3-8-eighth-inch-offset-oxygen-sensor-wrench-97177.html) and wonder if it might work to permit me to remove/replace the 4th gear switch without having to lower the tranny. Anyone know? It looks somewhat similar to the Volvo special tool 5250 shown on page 430-5 of my Bently book. If it does, it sure would be cheaper and easier than finding an acceptable socket and then trying to cut it down to size. Thanks!
