Ignition Faulters 1800 1973

Thanks, Ron

If I run the engine to the point that it won't run any more, then it won't restart immediately. I have to come back later.

Fuel isn't an issue. It's maintaining pressure and the plugs are coming out wet (due to misfire).

For one thing, I've discovered the ignition is wired incorrectly according to the wiring diagram. W/D says the condenser is fed by a white wire from the tach. PO of my car has the condenser wired straight off of the coil. There is a white wire coming through the firewall and dangling down by the distributor. I'm trying to verify the other end is terminated at the tach but can't see up under the dash for beans. Is there normally enough wire on the back of the instruments to just undo the thumb screws and pull the gauge out to connect/disconnect wires? I'm guessing the red wire from coil to tach is still connected as the tach jumps wildly when the engine misses.

Anyway, my plan was to start swapping for new: 1. condenser, 2. coil, etc.

The engine was actually running quite well, then all of a sudden this.
