facts:

1993 wagon automatic, runs starts well

1. both tailgate harness's rewired with full function
2. after this was done when the brake pedal is depressed

a. with engine OFF the arrow light glows faintly and stops when pedal no longer pressed (all brake lights work during this operation)

with key in 2 or with engine running and brake pedal depressed

a. tailgate defroster light immediately alights and remains on even when brake pedal not pressed for the remainder of the trip until engine switched off

AND

b. the tailgate window brake alights and remains ON same as the defroster light even once the brake pedal no longer pressed

c. the right and left tail lights go on and off as normal

after researching the wiring diagrams i seem to be missing the connection any help appreciated

i suspect fuse 11 is in play here but am not sure how pressing the brake pedal motivates activates the circuits on that fuse
