Overdrive light comes on/headlights fail/can't roll down auto windows 200 1990

1990 240 sedan. Periodically ( every 2 weeks or so) overdrive arrow comes on, can't remove it and headlights and running lights go off, can't roll down wondows. If I pull over and turn car off for approx one minute, when I turn the car on it all returns to normal. Sometimes it will all happen again within a few minutes, sometimes it doesn't happen again for another few weeks. Took it to good volvo guy, can't help me until it actually happens while he is driving it. Help I love my car but can't drove it at night or on warm days!
